When I first started going to the gym I was crazy intimidated. I think what helped me the most was making a plan and a playlist. Seriously once I turned that music on and blocked everyone else out I could focus on my plan. Eventually it doesn't matter as much how big you are (it helps) but when you're there 4 to 5 times a week at the same time everyday, you become a part of that gym's family. Even if you never talk to each other, you know each other. I'll never forget being at Chipotle and seeing this big dude from the gym recognize me and say "Hey man you're getting bigger, see you tomorrow." Just be a regular and the intimidation will leave. And once you get there encourage those who are new to the gym.

Going to a gym has its perks, I mean sometimes you got all that bikini body action floating around. thats the only thing that can f*ck with a mans focus.

I think I'll be pretty comfortable at my Uni gym next year but I see $10 a week as money that could go to a bench. Either way I've only been at this a couple of weeks.

I'm 16 6'2 158lbs. And I just started lifting weights but not really cuz I'm VERY inconsistent, I'm one of the weakest on my Football team, my Bench Max is 105lb. (Well maybe a little more cuz I've gotten a little stronger) but I don't really give that much of a DAMN cuz I'm just starting

Better to go to the gym, and at first feel insecure and disappointed in yourself for not looking fit like others and being jealous and intimated and then eventually becoming fit and happy yourself, than to lose focus and dedication on getting fit and never working on yourself because you will still see others fit and you yourself will not be. So remember, the negative mindset is only temporary. Pull through and make some s gains cause those fit people are just gonna get fitter and fitter while you stay the exact same!
